Kathy Douglas writes in to say "I invite you to look at this show of student work prepared for the National Art Education Association conference in Boston. Schools in six states contributed to this exhibit of over 300 pieces. The work can be viewed at the Arnhiem Gallery from Feb. 22-March 8.

More than 3,500 students from across Massachusetts participated in the 2005 Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards, which is now in its 55th year. Work that won Gold and Silver Keys is now on exhibit at the State Transportation Building, 10 Park Plaza, through March 11. Free to the public and open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, and noon to 5 p.m. on weekends. Congratulations to all the winners and participants!

Xtreme!Week is offered during February and April school vacations for students grades seven through twelve.
Students will be immersed in their studio selection, whether it be Fashion or Studio 2D Explorations for the five full vacation days. Classes meet daily 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
The finale of the week is a Fashion Show and Drawing Exhibition form 5:30 - 6:30 on the final Fridays.

Saturday Studios at MassArt PDF Print E-mail

Saturday Studios 9:30am - noon

No classes March 12 and April 16

Saturday Studios is offered to students in grades 4-12. For a beginner, it offers an introduction to the process of art making. For students with extensive studio backgrounds, it is a place to improve skills and refine an understanding of visual concepts. The eight-week Saturday Studios sessions are offered in the fall and spring semesters. The teachers of these studios are Art Education students who are guided and advised by Art Education faculty at MassArt.

Cost: $135 for the eight week session, all materials and supplies included. Photography and Computer Animation cost an additional $80 for lab fee. Financial assistance is available.
