Immigration and Urbanization Using 19th Cent. Public Art & Architecture PDF Print E-mail
Contributed by AECadmin
This mini-unit is designed as part of a unit on Immigration and Urbanization. The unit is designed to accent the typical content in such a unit, usually obtained from the text, lecture or other written sources. This portion of the unit provides a hands-on component, site visits, film excerpts, literature, technology research, brainstorming and charts to organize information. Additionally, the unit incorporates both group and individual work and is designed to suit all learning styles, while encouraging students to develop both their critical thinking skills and their creative expression.
The unit addresses several Massachusetts Curriculum Standards in the Art Frameworks as well as the Social Studies Frameworks and the Connections Standards. These standards are identified in the Objective portion of the overview chart.
